Allison Doan lost her battle with lung cancer on August 4th, 2017 but her spirit will live on in the people her book will help. A portion of the proceeds from Allison’s memoir and song, BRUISED AND BEAUTIFUL will benefit the LUNGevity Foundation.
Allison Doan’s inspiring memoir chronicles how she tumbled from a life of elite privilege, to incarceration in Federal Prison, to finally resting in God’s peace. This is a journey of self-discovery and the growing of her faith in the midst of her pain and struggle—both with prison and now her battle with Stage Four lung cancer.
“Sometimes growth comes through loneliness and suffering.”
Country singer Dave Fenley recorded Bruised and Beautiful (Alli’s Song). You can find it at iTunes. A portion of the proceeds from both Allison’s book and the song go to LUNGevity, which has a page dedicated to Allison Doan’s story.
LUNGevity is the nation’s leading lung cancer-focused nonprofit. According to their website, the LUNGevity Foundation is firmly committed to making an immediate impact on increasing quality of life and survivorship of people with lung cancer by accelerating research into early detection and more effective treatments, as well as providing community, support, and education for all those affected by the disease.
