Emblazon: Writing Stories on the Hearts of Children

I had planned to take a break from the blog for a few weeks starting today. However, I just discovered a friend of mine, Lynn Kelley, has a brand new website launching today with a group of other children’s authors. Emblazon: Writing Stories on the Hearts of Children looks to be an awesome site for finding books for children/tweens.

Isn't that a cool banner? i remember hiding under the covers with a flashlight to read. :-)

Here’s how they describe themselves on their About page

Emblazon is a collection of authors–some indie, some traditionally published–who have each produced at least one children’s novel. Our audiences range from fifth grade to young adult, but we have a particular focus on ages 11 to 14. Some call them upper middle grade; others call them low young adult. They’re somewhere in the middle and can lean either way. We call them Tweens.

They’re also hosting a giveaway which starts today and goes through July 23rd and you have the chance to win some awesome books . I know. I ‘ve read some of them. 🙂

Take a minute and check out their site. I think you’ll be glad you did. They even have a section which lists their current FREE ebooks.

My mother passed along her love of reading to me and I’ve been reading since I was four. It has definitely made a difference in my life. Anything we can do to encourage children to read is a good thing in my opinion. Are you sharing the love of reading with the children in your life?

As always – thanks for reading and I’ll see you in a few weeks. 🙂

In the meantime, if you haven’t signed up for my newsletter, you can do so now. I will be making a long awaited announcement soon. Be one of the first to get the news!
