Entertaining…wonder what dinner is like in this family! Very Hocus Pocus vibe! Fun, funny and unexpected adventures ahead…
Thank you, Rachel! I love Hocus Pocus! It’s one of my favorite movies.
Oh, I love this! Had me laughing from the get-go. You definitely nailed the visual of Aunt Ruby. ?
Thank you so much, Anne! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Aunt Ruby is a hoot to write!
Cute. Made me smile. Loved the witch’s response to “when pigs fly”. 🙂
Thank you, SK! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I’m having a lot of fun on this one.
Great imagery and natural, or was it unnatural dialogue.
Reminded me of my love affair with Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched), when I was a young teen.
I’ll be buying into this one when it appears … as if by magic. 🙂
Thank you, Tom! I loved Bewitched when I was a kid! I still stop and watch an episode when I run across the re-runs.
That was really cute. Now I’ve got a picture of Aunt Ruby in my head that brings back memories of one of my grandmothers. Although she wore more clothes than that, but sometimes… 😀 😀 😀
Nice job! Poor pig. And … what’s a familiar? 😀
Thank you, Kristy! My grandmother was a hoot. Not like this, but she always getting into mischief and had us laughing. And, she definitely wore clothes. 🙂
A witches’ familiar is an animal (usually a cat, but I like to mix things up) that is magical and can help its witch in different ways. In my witchy world, they can speak telepathically to their witch and other witches (you know – when they want to) and help enhance their witch’s powers.
So vivid I could almost feel the Texas heat. The only problem is will I ever be able to stop laughing or get the images out of my head. Oh what an adventure.
Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to comment, Alice! <3 It warms my heart that the story made you laugh. I'm having so much fun with this book. :-)
And I thought I had it tough as a freshman! Charlie’s challenges are apparent from the start, and Aunt Ruby would be extremely entertaining—if you didn’t have to live with her and have all your friends meet her. I am already imagining dinner, and I can feel the hot, humid air sitting on my shoulders. Great opening!
Thank you, Cheri! It makes me feel so much relief when my wonderful editor is liking it. <3 I can't wait to get the finished product in your hands and then out into the world. :-)
